For those who love meaningful conversations, lifelong learning, and exploring life's deeper questions.
Twice each year, we gather around a thoughtfully chosen book that invites reflection, curiosity, and personal growth. Rather than rushing through the pages, we journey together over the course of approximately seven months, meeting on the first and third Thursdays of each month to explore ideas, share perspectives, and discover how the book speaks to our own lives.
Our inaugural selection is Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer—a beautifully written collection of essays that weaves together Indigenous wisdom, scientific understanding, and a deep reverence for the natural world. Through stories of reciprocity, gratitude, belonging, and our relationship with the living earth, the book invites us to slow down, pay attention, and consider what it means to live in harmony with one another and the world around us.
Each gathering is thoughtfully guided and centered around a theme inspired by the reading. There are no quizzes, no lectures, and no expectation that everyone will interpret the material the same way. The richness of the experience comes from listening deeply, asking meaningful questions, and learning from one another's unique perspectives.
This is more than a book club. It is a circle of fellow seekers who value thoughtful conversation, authentic connection, and the wisdom that emerges when we gather with open minds and open hearts. While life happens, participants are encouraged to join with the intention of sharing the entire journey together, as the relationships that develop over time become an important part of the experience.
Whether you consider yourself spiritual, contemplative, curious, or simply someone who enjoys meaningful conversation, you are welcome here.
Discussions meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 6:00–7:30 p.m. The tea kettle is on by 5:45 p.m. for those who wish to arrive a little early, settle in, and visit before the discussion begins.
To foster meaningful conversation and allow everyone the opportunity to participate, each book journey is intentionally limited to eight participants.
Participation is included with Heartsong Membership. Community members who are not enrolled in a membership may join each seven-month book journey for a one-time registration fee of $15. Participants are responsible for obtaining their own copy of the selected book. Registration fees help support refreshments, materials, and the ongoing operation of Heartsong Healing Arts.
Come as you are. Bring your curiosity, your questions, and an open heart. Together, we'll discover that some of life's most meaningful conversations begin with the turning of a page.
